International Program Bochum-Tours

One degree programme with two degrees

Ruhr-Universität Bochum and the Université François Rabelais in Tours have enjoyed a close partnership for over 40 years. Part of this cooperation is the Integrated Study Programme in History (ISG).

The special feature of the ISG is that graduates of the programme receive two degrees - one German and one French. As a result, the ISG opens up a wide range of opportunities for its graduates. Graduates with an international double degree generally have better employment opportunities than their competitors with a national degree. In addition, a double degree also increases the chances of a higher entry-level position and a higher starting salary.

Another important aspect is intercultural competence. The integrated degree programme of the Universities of Bochum and Tours trains graduates in this area through its intercultural perspective and offers students the opportunity to broaden their cultural and intellectual horizons in the long term.

The ISG has already proven itself as a B.A. programme for many years. It is therefore particularly pleasing that the range of courses offered by the Institute of History has been expanded to include the Integrated M.A. programme since the 2011/12 winter semester.

The detailed page on the ISG is currently being revised. Until then, further information is available on the ISG facebook page and from Dr Jens Lieven, Jens.Lieven@ruhr-uni-bochum.de, GA 4/41, Tel. 24655.
