In order to ensure that students receive the best possible support and information during the various phases of their studies, the Department of History offers various study aids for the different study phases. Questions about the choice and organization of the degree course can be asked and uncertainties regarding the course of study or subject-specific regulations can be clarified in the student advisory services. They also offer help with a change of subject or a planned stay abroad.
All students who have been offered a place to study History must first attend a central information event. This is followed by individual study counseling with lecturers from the Department of History. The appointments for this counseling will be made immediately after the central information event. The time and place of the central information session will be announced on the homepage of the Department of History and in the course catalog. An information package is put together for first semester students containing everything they need to know about starting their studies, study regulations, excerpts from the course catalog, etc. The student advisory service not only explains the course requirements and discusses the specific timetable for History, but also the choice of specializations.
In addition, after completing the IPS, there is a further obligatory study consultation on the further course of study.
